Circular San Antonio is excited to invite you to a special design charrette for a bus stop and shade structure on October 10th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, in the Buena Vista Assembly Room (UTSA Downtown Campus). This event brings together the community, including students, professionals, artists, and anyone interested in implementing circularity and reducing the urban heat island effect. Together, we will collaborate on schematic designs for a sustainable bus stop and shade structure that will serve San Antonio's public transit system.
In partnership with the CoSA Office of Sustainability + Office of Historic Preservation and VIA Metropolitan Transit, Circular San Antonio is leading this effort to create a bus stop and shade structure utilizing reclaimed materials. This project will set a precedent for using circular resources in public infrastructure, demonstrating the value of sustainable design for the community. Attendees will collaborate with local artists, students from UTSA and SAC, and professionals from VIA and CoSA to develop design ideas that could be implemented within the next 12 months.
Please bring your ideas, something to write with, and something to write on, as we’ll be brainstorming and sketching during the session.
Parking will be available at Cattleman’s Square (110-130 S Pecos La Trinidad, San Antonio, TX 78205), and guests will be issued temporary parking passes upon arrival.
The deadline to RSVP is October 7th by 5:30 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to a sustainable community project and see your design ideas come to life!
This project is supported by the City of San Antonio Office of Sustainability Community Action Fund.
