Circular San Antonio is partnering with the Texas Recycle Warehouse in San Marcos, TX for a behind-the-scenes tour of their new mattress recycling facility. The Texas Recycle Warehouse is the region's first mattress and box spring recycling facility serving South Central Texas. Texas recycle warehouse provides commercial and residential service to communities from Austin, San Antonio, and everywhere in-between. Led by owner Mike Zachman with over a decade of experience in the industry, the tour will showcase how mattresses and box springs are collected, deconstructed, and reused.

The tour will be especially insightful to individuals working in the following industries: solid waste, hotels and hospitality, and government. Mike will also discuss how he collaborates with government, hotel, and the bedding industry professionals to increase accessibility to mattress recycling while creating jobs in our community.

Upwards of 90% of mattresses can be reused. For example, steel can be crushed to go into other steel products, wood can be ground into mulch, and the foam can be reused for carpet padding. Learn about this exciting industry at the source!
